Faults & Injuries:
Punctured Turbo hose
Performance was lacking ever since we picked the car up – if you opened the window and put your foot down; all you could hear was what sounded like a hoover, with this great rush of air as the turbo kicked in. This was fixed under warranty.
Options:
Missed the 16″ wheels we had with the last 1.4 but, at least you can’t see them from inside the car anyway.
The ESP wasn’t intrusive on a daily basis, but it did prove useful in the wet. A slightly enthusiastic right turn at the crossroads led to the system trimming quite a tidy line for me!
Verdict
What made the last car a pretty complete package is ever closer now. If you can get your hands on this engine – go for it.
Good:
- Same as before really. What was applicable to the previous 1.4 applies here.
Bad:
- Same as before really. What was applicable to the previous 1.4 applies here.
