Driver’s Electric Window:
The ‘one-touch-open/close’ function stopped working on the driver’s electric window, the others were fine – It also affected the Global Opening/Closing function where all the windows would function except for the driver’s!
Simple fix really; just press and hold the button down when the window is fully open for a few secs, then close and hold the switch up for the same amount of time to reset.
Door Edge Protector fail:
Came back to the car one afternoon to see something sticking out in between the front and back doors.
“What…the..f…is that..?”
Lo and behold, sticking out was the door edge protector from the driver’s door. Stuck like a dogs tongue hanging out of it’s closed mouth.
God knows how it confused itself into this predicament, but it went and dented the sodding rear door in the process – just what you need when you’re soon to be exchanging the car!
Turns out it was functioning completely the opposite way – i.e. popping out whilst closing – so inevitably once I got back in the car, I couldn’t then get back out as it was pushing against the door frame!
Eventually forced myself out and tried to rectify it, but in the end the protector just broke off its attachment and tragically fell onto the floor like a broken windscreen wiper.
Took it to Ford; the guy was pretty much unphased whilst they arranged to fix it under warranty…hmmmmm, happened much???
Front Bumper
Had quite a scuff on the front bumper skirt; literally have no idea on the cause of this but, in my warped sense of humour, they did look like teeth marks. The only other suggestion was hitting a block of ice with stones in; but whatever it was managed to get through the paintwork.
Required a few weekends to repair/respray.
