Our blue Evoque has gone and made way for the 2014MY with its new automatic gearbox. Now equipped with nine-speeds (courtesy of ZF), this will be the first Land Rover in the range to utilise this transmission – it has one more gear than even its bigger Range Rover Sport and Discovery siblings.
In conjunction with stop-start technology, the 187bhp 2.2-litre SD4 auto diesel now manages to decrease its CO2 emissions from 174g/km down to 163g/km, with fuel economy marginally growing from 44.1mpg to 47.1mpg.
We’ve gone for Firenze Red this time, but we’ve kept with the same Dynamic Lux spec and options. The few revisions Land Rover have made elsewhere are minor, and so we’ll have to see if they’re enough to make the Evoque any more of a complete package!
