For those needing a fix for their enthusiasm into cars, the Footman James Classic Car Show should help see to that.
Set at Event City within neighbouring distance of the Trafford Centre, this indoor event showcases a diverse range of classic cars – from a pre-war bike right through to today’s motor’s. This was my first time attending this event, but my initial fears of being out of depth at a particularly specialist event dissipated as soon as I walked into the venue.
The types of cars are not limited either: with sports cars, saloons, pick-up trucks, America muscle cars and small European hatches. Add to this, a selection of trade stands and even a workshop demonstrating how to restore body panels, and everyone should find something of interest.
At the far side of the venue, you can even step outdoors to see a live, small rally-circuit stage set up along one side of the building with a range of car roaring past throughout the day.
There is a lot to see; we think a minimum of 5 hours is juuust about enough to cover the filled 300,000 acre space! Unusually, you’re not strictly obliged to stay within the vicinity in one sitting either; you’re welcome to come and go at any time which is great if you want a change of scenery, or arrange dining / meeting points with others later.
